Third Party Reproduction

As a therapist specializing in third party reproduction, I understand the complexities and emotions that come with this journey. Third party reproduction refers to the use of donor eggs, sperm or embryos to assist an individual or a couple to conceive a child.  Most fertility clinics will require that intended parents/ recipients/ donors/ surrogates meet with a therapist to discuss the unique aspects of conceiving using a donor. During the session we will discuss important topics related to the process and you will be provided with the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. My goal as a therapist and as someone who has personally experienced this process, is to ensure that you feel comfortable and informed throughout our session.

Main Topics Discussed During The Counselling Session:

 - Brief overview of your fertility journey

- Some specifics about the goals you have discussed with your

    fertility clinic

- Important aspects of choosing a donor/ surrogate

- Your support system

- Your mental and physical health

- Timelines of the process

- Your outlook on communication with the child about how they

   were conceived

- Continued emotional support

After our meeting I will send a written report to the fertility clinic confirming that we have discussed the recommended topics.

If the intended parents/ donor/ surrogate are married/ common-law, both people need to attend the session.

If you would like to continue receiving support from me during your journey, you are welcome to book additional sessions.
