We all have a story. Our life story begins to take shape from the moment we are born and is influenced by our parents and caregivers, our societal environment, our cultural background, our friends, family, intimate partners and our daily experiences.
I believe that people ultimately want the best for themselves. We all deserve to feel safe, seen, heard and happy. When we experience life events that cause us trauma, loss, grief, and daily stress we may feel anxiety, stress, sadness, anger, depression and even hopelessness and need support from a skilled professional whom we can feel safe with.
I'm dedicated to helping each of my clients overcome their unique challenges, whether they're related to anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns. Keeping in mind that it may not be easy for you to open up to someone you just met, my approach to counselling is to provide time and safe space for you. I respect your boundaries, I respect your personal, cultural, and social values and keep them in mind during our work together. I use my professional expertise to offer you helpful perspective on the challenges you are facing, provide you with tools to cope, and together we will set realistic, actionable goals to help you move towards living the life you desire and deserve.

We, humans are wired for connection and crave to be loved, seen and heard. Sometimes we may meet someone, we connect and fall in love but we are still unfulfilled and feel like something is missing.
When I work with couples, I begin by listening to your story and work towards creating safe and supportive environment. Together we explore important aspect of your individuality such as core values, love languages, attachment and communication styles. We discuss how each person contributes to the relationship and practice reflective listening and emotional intelligence. Then we will explore your life patterns, and how these may be influencing your current functioning. My goal is to understand each person and teach you the skills you need to communicate with each other effectively, in a loving and respectful way. The foundation of effective communication is to hear and feel heard. I will also teach you how to integrate your personal life experiences into your current relationship, how to recognize and manage triggers, and enrich your emotional vocabulary.
I hope that this process will give you the tools to move towards more fulfilling and authentic relationship with yourself and with your partner.
